As a reminder, the VFW and its Auxiliary are completely volunteer-run organizations. It takes a team of dedicated volunteers to keep things running smoothly.

We are always looking for new help to share the load as well. There are a variety of ways you can help out. If you have a skill or talent or just a desire to help, reach out to an officer to find out how you can get involved.

Possible volunteer opportunities include, but are not limited to:

  • Cooking for potlucks, and/or cleaning up after the meal
  • Serving in an elected or appointed position
  • Handing out Buddy Poppies at our November and May tablings
  • Being present as a VFW/Auxiliary representative out in the community
  • Serving as a member of the Honor Guard for veteran burials or Color Guard for community events
  • Organizing activities that bring the community and the VFW together
  • Referring a veteran or family in need to the appropriate resources
  • Documenting our activities via photos, written articles, and social media posts
  • Manual labor such as cleaning, mowing, shoveling, or repairs around our Post Home
  • Helping with projects that come up such as building a ramp at a veteran’s home
  • Support fundraising and donation collection efforts

If you want to step up for any of the above, or you have an idea and want to take the lead on the effort, please connect with us today! You are welcome to complete the new Volunteer Interest form, or simply talk to an officer next time you see them. We’d be happy to bring you up to speed and into the fold.
