As restrictions lift and vaccinations increase, this year’s Memorial Day looked a bit more like “normal”. As part of the Patriotic Council, our post was involved with a number of events around the Wenatchee Valley on Monday, 31 May 2021.

Flags had been placed on veterans graves at both Wenatchee Cemetery and Evergreen Memorial Park (East Wenatchee) by volunteers from VFW Post 3617 & Auxiliary, American Legion Post 10 & Auxiliary, and the community the weekend before.

On Monday, the ceremonies started at Wenatchee Cemetery at 9am. Those lost at sea were honored with a wreath tossing from the Pedestrian bridge (just north of the George Sellar bridge) at 10am. Then at 11am, another ceremony was held at Evergreen Memorial Park in East Wenatchee. Finally, Commander Pieratt lead a small ceremony at Pybus market at noon.
