On 18 Dec 2001, a joint resolution (Public Law 107-89) was approved by Congress designating September 11 of each year as “Patriot Day“, a day of remembrance to honor those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks of 11 Sept 2001, and those who’ve lost lives since then to protect our freedoms. While not a Federal Holiday, it is still a day of prayer, honor, and service.
Locally, there is an annual event at the Spirit of America 9/11 Memorial in Cashmere. NCW News did a great job covering the event.
Members of our Auxiliary attended this year’s ceremony and shared the following photos with us.
