As mentioned on our POW/MIA Recognition Day page, we honor and remember our nation’s Prisoners of War and Missing in Action with a modest table and a small ceremony on the third Friday in September every year.
This year was no different, and our Auxiliary Chaplain Judy Ebi once again read the details of the table setting and the meaning of each piece as our Auxiliary President Shirley Lance placed the items.
Please enjoy this video from earlier today (apologies for the shakiness – the Adjutant didn’t bring a tripod).
Edited 24 Sept to add:
On September 22nd, we gathered at Bonaventure to present a POW/MIA Ceremony to the residents. The Auxiliary performed the ceremony and we were able to stick around afterwards to talk with the residents, many of them who are veterans, about their service or memories during that timeframe of service.
