Due to the rising costs associated with printing and mailing a physical copy of the VFW Magazine to all of its members, VFW National is gradually moving to a digital-only format.
This process started in January of 2024, with certain issues being printed and mailed while other issues were only delivered in a digital format. If you have a valid email address on record with National, you probably received an email about this sometime last year. It was also printed in each magazine with additional information. There may still be a chance to request printed copies, but that will require contacting National via phone, email, or postal mail, and is not guaranteed.
If you do NOT have a valid email address on record with National, you’ll want to get that updated sooner rather than later to ensure you aren’t missing valuable information for your veterans service organization. You can update your address on record by visiting OMS within your VFW account by visiting this quick link: https://oms.vfw.org/member/memberdetail.aspx/
Still not sure you want to get the digital content? National shares this:
VFW wants to ensure that you receive all content we provide you as a VFW member. Benefits of our digital issues include videos, additional content not found in the print version, as well as direct links to important email addresses and advertisers.
To help you receive this additional content, VFW will send you an email notice that the digital issue is available. Obviously, we will need correct and updated email addresses for all our members.
Please [… visit the] VFW’s OMS site. You can also call or write to our Member Service Center.
We want to make your VFW Magazine more interactive to offer you more features you can access from your computer or smartphone. Help us help you by providing a current email address.
As a side note from your Post Adjutant, please make sure I have your current, valid email address on file as well. I would like to have more than one way to reach you all with timely, important information related to our Post activities. You can contact me via email at vfw3617adj@gmail.com or through one of our other Post officers.
