Auxiliary Holiday Activity

This holiday season, our Auxiliary wanted to send a simple gift to those residing in local assisted living facilities, so they got crafty. Auxiliary member Dee Johnson came across the pattern for these felt mice and thought it would be an easy project for spreading a little extra holiday cheer.

These cute little mice feature a green felt body and red felt ears, googly eyes, and a mini candy cane as the tail. Adding a Buddy Poppy to each reminds the recipients of the caring and kindness of our Post and Auxiliary.

Dee Johnson and Shirley Lance, Auxiliary President, pose with some of the mice at our Post Home before distribution.

During the month of December, six Auxiliary members cut out and assembled approximately 70-75 mice. On Dec 22, two Auxiliary members delivered the mice to Regency (Wenatchee), Avalon Manor Home for Seniors, Autumn Gardens, and Bonaventure (all East Wenatchee).
