Updates from the Auxiliary

Our Auxiliary is constantly working on some new project and staying busy serving our veterans and our community. In the last few months, the Auxiliary has:

  • created and sent out a number of handmade Valentines to local veterans, as well as collecting Valentines for Veterans from local schools. These valentines were shared with veterans at Bonaventure (local retirement facility) as well as both the Walla Walla Soldier Home and the Orting Solder Home (run by the WDVA).
  • collected a car-full of nonperishable food and other personal care necessities, which were then donated to the Fresh Hope Market, the food bank managed by Serve Wenatchee.
  • crafted a variety of Easter-themed favors to be delivered to Veterans and other residents at Bonaventure.

There will be plenty more opportunities for our Auxiliary and Post members to connect and do good for our local community, veterans and their families, as we roll through spring and into the summer. Members are encouraged to come to our monthly meetings or stop in for Friday Coffee to stay up-to-date with ongoing service projects and how you can get involved.
